Kiyomizudera

Kiyomizu Temple was founded in the Heian period of Japan and has been reference throughout history in Japanese literature. It is one of the main attractions of Kyoto and draws visitors from all over the world, and with good reason – the temple is a massive collection of shrines and sites of worship, including the famous veranda that offers amazing views of the city. Visit the Jishu “love” shrine, where you can pray to find your true love, or drink from the natural wish-granting fountain at the foot of the main hall.  Join locals in getting your fortunes told, or buy a talisman to wish for more auspicious fortune.
